Advisory Board & Operating Partner · technical B2B

Strategic counsel grounded in operating reality.

I support owners and executive teams when growth, commercial transformation or AI-enabled renewal is constrained not by ideas, but by priorities, decisions and execution.

When the role creates value

An advisory board should improve decisions, not merely extend meetings.

My profile fits when owners want an entrepreneurial external perspective that remains close enough to operations to understand consequences and execution.

01

Technical strength is under-commercialised

Market, proposition, customer access and sales governance need a clearer shared direction.

02

New markets require disciplined entry

The opportunities are visible, but prioritisation, proposition, partner logic and first customer moves are missing.

03

AI must create operating impact

The technology is available, but value, accountability, workflows and cultural adoption are not yet connected.

04

The executive team needs demanding sparring

Important decisions need an independent counterpart who thinks entrepreneurially and understands implementation.

My contribution

Four perspectives that belong together at board level.

Commercial agenda

I sharpen market priorities, value proposition, sales logic and the link between pipeline, margin and delivery capacity.

Movement & decisions

I expose decision drag, interfaces and diluted ownership and translate them into an executable leadership agenda.

AI-enabled execution

I identify where AI can accelerate analysis, knowledge work, proposals and control while accountability remains human.

Change & culture

I test whether strategy, leadership behaviour, communication and routines genuinely reinforce the same change.

A clear role

No ceremonial seat. No shadow management.

I do not take an advisory title for appearance and I replace neither executive management nor specialist oversight. Mandate, decision rights, confidentiality and liability are defined clearly. Where full operating accountability is needed, an interim mandate is the more honest model.

Working model

As close as necessary. As independent as possible.

Advisory Board

4–6 meetings per year

Prepare and challenge strategic and commercial decisions and track progress over time.

Operating Partner

1–2 days per month

Work more closely with owners and executives on market, transformation and selected execution levers.

Strategic sparring

For defined decision phases

Structure one growth, market or transformation decision and carry it through to a dependable direction.

Operating foundation

My counsel comes from direct business and execution accountability.

Questions about working together

How does the advisory role differ from an interim mandate?

In an interim mandate I take line and business accountability. On an advisory board I remain independent, sharpen decisions and support management without replacing it.

Which businesses are the strongest fit?

Technical B2B businesses across industry, energy, infrastructure and technical distribution, particularly around growth, new markets and commercial renewal.

Is AI the focus of the advisory work?

No. The focus is future competitiveness. AI is an important lever for speed, productivity and stronger decision support.

How does an engagement begin?

With a confidential conversation about the owner's agenda, executive team, decision needs and desired proximity to execution. I then propose a clear role and working model.
